Have you ever experienced serious illness and wondered to what extent your personal choices might have precipitated the problems you face?
Even more significant is to ask whether there are personal choices that can help you climb out of the adverse situation you have now encountered. Many researchers believe it has been proven absolutely that lifestyle and attitude are major causes of illness – particularly as we age beyond 50 or so. But they are skeptical as to whether one can learn how to reverse the trend and secure ongoing improvement in health and wellness. My experience says they are unnecessarily pessimistic. Perhaps too committed to the convention of Rx drug culture of therapy or dissuaded by some of the extreme examples of alternative cure. And I don’t want believe that anyone who things clearly would claim that all of value in traditional wisdom can and/or has been converted to a pill!
If someone wants to get better enough, and makes the changes required, then the mind and body can be uplifted. If our innate defenses are improved, then minimally there should be better response to judicious therapy. Obviously there are limits. We are still mortal. We won’t learn to fly or become super athletes necessarily. But there is good reason to believe we can make things better. I did…and this is an introduction to my tale: finding-ned.
There are some other pages to come, addressing the wider issues of immune dysfunction and aging. We all seem to fear aging…since it leads to death, I suppose. Remember, the only way to avoid death is not to get conceived. We have missed that opportunity and so, the highest call to answer is that of tending the legacy we might leave behind.
Best of luck — learn to enjoy.
